National Public Land's Day - Volunteer Conservation Event
National Public Lands Day is the single largest day of service for the Minnesota Master Naturalist Program. There are 16 sites across Minnesota providing volunteer service for conservation efforts. The days project will consist of habitat restoration. Learn to identify and remove invasive buckthorn. Participants use loppers to snip sapling size buckthorn, chemically treat the stumps with hand held daubers, and stack removed wood.
Please bring work gloves and wear close toed shoes and long pants. A water bottle and insect (tick) repellent are recommended.
This event will be cancelled in the event of severe weather. There is no alternate indoor activity.
All volunteers will receive a free national park day pass and a t-shirt! Family and friends are welcome to participate but will need to sign up to receive t-shirt. They can create a visitor account to register.
